Reminiscences and Dreams: Reading Meiji and Taishō Short Stories
This project realized publication of a Polish-language handbook on Japanese language and culture featuring five short-stories from Meiji and early Taishō Japan. The book will provide students in Poland with an invaluable opportunity to get acquainted with a selection of Japanese short fiction in the original, and to deepen their understanding of the works and their context. Five short-stories, none previously translated into Polish, by Kunikida Doppo, Natsume Soseki Nagai Kafu, Mori Ogai and Akutagawa Ryunosuke, were chosen to represent the range of styles and transformation of the Japanese short story in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
