Global Classmate: A Virtual Cultural Exchange Program for Japanese and U.S. students

High school students from Japan and the United States participated in a cultural and language exchange program during the six months from September 2020 to February 2021, using photos and Japanese and English videos on an online exchange site. The program attracted 37 high schools in both countries, 74 in all, the largest number yet.

Disaster Prevention Education in Nepal

Nepal's first disaster prevention learning center was established in 2019, making full use of Japan's extensive experience for disaster prevention education. An online workshop was held in coordination with the first-batch of Nepalese teachers to train the second batch of new teachers. Schools in Nepal were also provided with various training tools and programs to help promote disaster risk education.
