20th Annual Conference of the Japan Society for Global System and Ethics “To Overcome the Crisis of Humanity and the Earth: Deliberation on the Past and Future of Evolution and Civilization”
With the survival of the global environment becoming increasingly critical, the 20th annual conference aimed to bring together participants of diverse ages and backgrounds to share cutting-edge, interdisciplinary knowledge; the goals were a deeper understanding of the root causes of the numerous issues the Earth faces, to reexamine how humanity should act moving forward, and to publicize the results in Japan and internationally. Following a keynote by Juichi Yamagiwa, Director of the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature, a panel that included producers of the Osaka-Kansai Expo and opinion leaders discussed guidelines for the future from multiple perspectives, with “life,” a core theme of the expo, as a keyword.
